What is Vox Camerata?

Vox Camerata is a Singapore-based arts non-profit, company limited by guarantee, that uses the performing arts — choral music, forum theatre, and community programmes — to build community and foster intercultural dialogue. Founded in 2005, programmes include the Vox Camerata Community Choir, the Vox Camerata Chamber Singers, as well as advocacy and outreach festivals such as the Musica Intimae: Intersections (2025).

Do I need experience to join Vox Camerata?

It depends on the programme. The Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble for singers with prior choral or vocal experience. The community choir welcomes singers of all levels with no audition required.

Musica Intimae: Intersections is Vox Camerata's arts advocacy initiative exploring inter-ethnic and inter-faith relationships in Singapore through music, storytelling, and forum theatre.

What kind of music does the Chamber Singers perform?

The Chamber Singers performs mainly a cappella music spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary modern repertoire. The ensemble also performs newly written music by local composers.

Vox Camerata is currently recruiting members for the community choir. We welcome anyone who is keen to participate in making good choral music and willing to try new things.

Our community choir rehearses on Saturday afternoons at the Aliwal Arts Centre.
