Shaun Teo
Resident Conductor

Shaun started getting involved in choral music in 2001 with his first exposure as a singer in the secondary school choir. Although his background was in piano, he found the voice to be a very intriguing instrument - one that everyone has, but not necessarily know how to use. Inspired by his first conductor, he continued his interest in choral music by joining a community choir. During the time he was with the choir, he had his first experiences singing major choir works and with other choirs in the region, he also fulfilled his dream of performing at the Esplanade Concert Hall. When he was first introduced to Vox, he recalled the time when he first started singing and this made him gain new perspectives on what choral music is about - it is not only about the music, but to inspire people with the music. Apart from choral music, he is also actively involved in Migrant Voices - a community based arts group for migrant workers in Singapore, and a student at a local tertiary institution.
