Ru-Shin spent 16 years conceptualising and managing real-estate portfolios, specialising in mixed-use commercial developments and hospitality projects throughout Asia Pacific, before moving on to focus on supporting the arts and pursuing her passion in music.
She has spent 30 years in the choral music space, with her singing journey taking her onstage both in Singapore and abroad.
In Aug 2019, Ru-Shin performed at the National Liberation Day Choral Festival at the Seoul Arts Center. More recently, undeterred by the havoc brought by the raging pandemic, she took the stage in May 2021 at the Esplanade Recital Studio, singing fully masked, with the SYC Ensemble Singers in their concert, Matins.
She stumbled upon choral music after attending a performance by her secondary school choir, which left such a deep impression that she immediately auditioned. Since then, Ru-Shin has continued her choral journey with the Raffles Junior College Chorale, the National University of Singapore Choir and the SYC Ensemble Singers.
When not onstage or in rehearsals, she may be spotted learning to play the cello or paddling out to sea.
