
Mezzo-soprano Azura Farid studied at King’s College London, graduating with a BA(Hons) in Liberal Arts with a Major in Music.
As a choral singer in Singapore, Azura has sung with Cappella Martialis, The Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Vocal Associates Festival Chorus. In London, Azura sang with The Fourth Choir and held a choral scholarship at St John’s Notting Hill while taking on freelance choral work around London.
Azura’s solo concert performances include the world premiere of Impian (Syafiqah ‘Adha Sallehin / Mohamed Latiff Mohamed) for The Opera People, a collaboration with dance company Chowk Productions on The Experimental Man and a solo debut at Singapore Lyric Opera’s Opera in the Park.
In opera, Azura’s roles include Second Maiden Der Zwerg (The Opera People), Third Boy Die Zauberflöte (Hampstead Garden Opera (cover) and Singapore Lyric Opera), Boy/False Boy The Tsar Wants His Photograph Taken (Bloomsbury Studio), Mopsa The Fairy Queen, Nireno Giulio Cesare and Gossip Noye’s Fludde (King’s Opera).
Opera chorus performances include Aida, L’elisir d’amore, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Don Giovanni and Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Singapore Lyric Opera), Semele and Le Nozze di Figaro (King’s Opera) and Otello (Everybody Can! Opera).
