Performed live during Musica Intimae: The Plain of Dreams 夢の広野 (2018) at Victoria Concert Hall

“Will tomorrow, I wonder, be cloudy or clear?” asks the title of this piece composed and written by eminent Japanese maestro Tōru Takemitsu. Written and composed in 1985 for the Shin-yu Kai Chorus, the song captures the moment when one finds oneself straddling both uncertainty and optimism while thinking about the future. Takemitsu’s signature sound, featuring rich harmonies colouring melodious refrains, shines through in this conversational and thoughtful piece.
